Whitewater High School Receives Grant to
Launch HOSA Chapter

WHITEWATER, WI — Whitewater High School has received a grant from the Wisconsin Hospital Association Foundation to launch a new Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) chapter.

The $1,000 minimum grant can be used for membership dues, leadership conference registration, advisor training, and materials for competitive events. The funding is part of the WHA Foundation’s effort to expand health career exploration in Wisconsin schools.

HOSA is an international student-led organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. It provides students with career exploration, leadership training, and opportunities to compete in health care-related events.

“This opportunity opens doors for our students to explore healthcare careers while developing leadership and teamwork skills,” said Whitewater Unified School District Superintendent Samuel Karns. “We are grateful for the WHA Foundation’s support.”

The WHA Foundation created the grant program to encourage more Wisconsin schools to establish HOSA chapters. Checks will be distributed in early September, along with information on local hospital partners who contributed to the award.
