Whitewater Arts Alliance Presents the 2023 Season of Savory Sounds Concerts

(WHITEWATER-June 13) The Whitewater Arts Alliance is proud to announce this year’s line-up of artists for the annual Savory Sounds Concert Series! This June-July lunch concert series features five different musical artists that are sure to excite adults and kids alike! All concerts are free and take place from 11:30 AM-12:45 PM at the Birge Fountain, outside of the Cultural Arts Center (402 W. Main St. Whitewater, WI 53190). Extra parking is freely provided across the street at First English Lutheran Church. In case of rain, concerts will be air conditioned indoors.

June 22, 2023 STEVE MEISNER LEGACY A tribute concert by members of Steve Meisner’s Band to Whitewater’s beloved legend who suddenly passed away on June 1st. Enjoy the joy of polka music that touches the soul!

The featured food vendor for this concert will be The Sweet Spot.

June 29, 2023 – 132D ARMY BAND One of the finest military bands in the Nation, this band has performed around the world for ceremonial, military and community events. Their music ranges from traditional to jazz to popular. It is a true honor to host them in Whitewater!

The featured food vendor for this concert will be La Preferida. Rain location, First United Methodist Church 145 S. Prairie St.

July 13th, 2023 – COLE AND COMPANY JAZZ TRIO A family music group consisting of Professor Carl A. Cole, B.A., M.A. (Piano/Vocals), his wife, Dianna (Vocals) and son, Andrew (Bass/Drums), all professional musicians. Based in Rockford, IL, the trio shares top-quality music performances and productions, including favorite romantic songs, Gospel, Blues, Jazz, R&B/Soul and Pop.

The featured food vendor for this concert will be Casual Joe’s BBQ.

July 20, 2023 – TAPESTRY: ACOUSTIC FOLK QUINTET A five piece acoustic string band of local musicians woven together in a multi-faceted collection of musical styles and flavors. Add five-part vocal harmony and a wonderful experience is guaranteed.

The featured food vendor for this concert will be Jersey Mikes.

July 27, 2023 – CREAM CITY BRASS BAND Founded in Milwaukee but born from the tradition of New Orleans jazz and second line parades, this band exists to honor the heritage of Louisiana brass bands, through their interpretations of jazz standards and current styles of music. Having performed at venues such as Summerfest & Turner Hall, the Cream City Brass Band hold a high reputation in the Milwaukee music scene. Members of the group have grown up together as peers and mentors, leaving no wonder as to why you feel the love every time you hear them play. This modern brass band weaves together diverse genres to create a unique, funky sound that keeps its roots in the legendary Crescent City.

*In case of rain, concerts will be broadcasted on Local Access 990 and inside the Arts Center.

All concerts are free, and we welcome all to attend! Pets on leash are welcomed.
