According to section 118.07(3) of the state statutes, each school district must provide the parents/guardians of students enrolled in grade 6 to 12  in the district with information about meningococcal disease, including: (a) the causes and symptoms of the disease, (b) how it is spread, and (c) how to obtain additional information about the disease and the availability, effectiveness, and risks of vaccinations against the disease.
