As the opening number to the show suggests, "Something funny's going on" on stage at Whitewater High School as the WHS Players present the musical murder mystery farce, Lucky $tiff, which will be performed at 7:30 p.m. November 20, 21, & 22 in the WHS Auditorium. The show was the first collaborative effort for Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, the creative team behind award-winning show Ragtime. With plenty of plot twists, zany characters, memorable tunes, and a surprise ending, the fast-paced show was perhaps best described by a critic for the United Press International, who wrote, "Mix the zany antics of a Marx Brothers movie with the preposterous plot of a serial cliff-hanger . . . and you come up with Lucky Stiff, a new old-fashioned musical with its tongue planted firmly in its cheek."
Directors Anne & Lane Kuske say they are delighted to have come across this obscure gem with more twists than a Twizzler and a hysterical surprise ending. They've assembled a cast of 34 talented students to play a host of bizarre and wild characters, including the dead man who's pushed around stage all evening in a wheelchair. Music director Lori Heidenreich doubles duty as pianist in the pit.
Reserved-seat tickets are affordably priced at $7 and under, and still only $3 for students. Call the 24-hour box office info-line at (262) 472-8178 for information on box office hours. Don't miss the show New York Newsday calls "a wild and crazy sick joke set to music!"

Trick or Treat for UNICEF
"Trick or Treat for UNICEF!" those will be the words that many Whitewater resident will be hearing this Halloween as once again the amazing students from Lincoln, Lakeview, and Washington will be conducting their very own Trick or Treat campaign. Last year the students at these elementary schools raised over $1,000! Whitewater High School students gave informational presentations about UNICEF. This year's Halloween festivities will take place on Friday afternoon from 4-7:00 p.m.
UNICEF is a branch of the United Nations that focuses specifically on the health and well-being of children. Every Halloween, children who want to help their less privileged peers around the world raise money for UNICEF by collecting change while trick-or-treating. Today, students received an orange Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF box in which to collect this money.
Pictured is a WUSD student along with delegates from Whitewater High School's Model United Nations organization. During the week of October 27, the high school students gave presentations to elementary students to explain what Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF is and does, and encouraging them to participate in this wonderful activity.
