In Memory of Steve Lamsam

The entire district and community mourns the death of WUSD School Board Vice President Steve Lamsam. Our deepest, heartfelt sympathies go out to his wife Noreen, his children Stephanie and Christopher, and the rest of his family. A memorial service for Mr. Lamsam will be held Saturday, March 20 at the First United Methodist Church in Whitewater. Steve will be missed tremendously for his dedication and service to our schools and community.

Outstanding Educators Honored!

Carey Fero & Peggy Wuenstel have been awarded 2010 Herb Kohl Educational Foundation fellowships. Carey is a 7th grade language arts & social studies teacher at WMS & Peggy is the speech/language educator at Washington Elementary. Both receive $1,000, with a matching amount going to their schools. They are now contenders to become one of four Wisconsin Teachers of the Year, one of whom represents the state in the National Teacher of the Year competition.

Nice Job, Luis and Bryan!

Congratulations to Luis Valadez and Bryan Edwards who both competed in the Sectional Wrestling tournament with the hopes of advancing to WIAA State. Both wrestled well but came up short on their goals. Thanks to these two athletes and the entire wrestling team for a memorable season. Click photo & maximize window to enlarge.
